Project Background
Create a more high-end user experience for a local cafe called Love, Coffee. Love, Coffee is one of the only local coffee shops in the area, which lends to a variety of users and needs. They need a better way of keeping up with regulars and their discounts, a way to order ahead and an overall more fun user experience.
The initial project was very streamlined, with only options to order one item at a time and not many pages showing the user was successful in ordering.
My local coffee store app will have accessible features, offer online ordering, provide options for discounts, all while keeping the brand obvious and fun. It allows customers to order their drink ahead of time and have access to featured menu items, along with getting a 10% discount just by having the app. They can order coffee from a local cafe just like they can from Starbucks. Instead of relying on the ease of primarily chain restaurants, they can get unique coffee choices more easily by using the product, especially for those who buy coffee often and need variety.
User Research Prior to Testing
I conducted some in-person interviews along with sending out a Google Form to get a larger sample size of people who would be potential users of this application.
Most wanted a straightforward, clean and simple design, but many also talked about their concerns when the app lets you order even if the restaurant is closed, and generally issues with error messages. Others wanted a better way of viewing menu options on a mobile device so there isn’t as much scrolling or jumping from page to page.
