Voices of North Georgia is a nonprofit community chorus based in Gainesville, Georgia. I've worked for them creating poster, ticket, program and postcard designs for five years.
When coming up with a new logo for Voices, I presented multiple application design ideas to the nonprofit's board. The design on the left showed "Voices" as a variety of musical characters, and the designs to the right showed the initials with the lines of a music staff through the letters.
They loved the idea of the music staff - so I went with that and created 5 lines representing the Appalachian Mountains in North Georgia for their logo, in the colors blue and purple, directly correlating with the colors of the mountain range. Hence, the "Blue Ridge" mountains.
